McQueen and I

I was asked to write about my experience of wearing The Armadillo Shoe by McQueen and here is a picture of my feet in them. i feel honored to have been able to put my feet in these pieces of Art.
Here are my Ramblings unedited.

I doubt I have ever been in love with a pair of shoes, I mean I Love shoes, my bedroom is full of them, boxes of them piled up my wall. My own collection of architecture waiting for an airing and at 5'3 I need them, they give you the sex appeal that a shorty like myself needs to compete with the Amazonian goddesses I have to walk amongst. They also allow me to feel the height I truly was meant to be, even if it's only till I carefully kick them off at night and put them back on the shelf. I like to aim high and surely nothing comes higher than the amazing Armadillos created for the late Alexander McQueen's Spring Summer Show. Measuring a towering 12 inches in height these python numbers had me a gasp as I watched the show from the comfort of my bedroom. Not because of their height but because of their sheer beauty. Never have I wanted anything as much in my life as I wanted a pair of these shoes. Three Weeks ago they literally walked into my life and by my desk. Charlie, The Times Fashion assistant had called a pair in for a fashion shoot and as the girl with the Cinderella feet she was giving them a test run around the office. To my excitement she unzipped the shoes and asked if I wanted a go.
The Armadillo is a sit down and hold onto the table kind of shoe, mostly due to fear of breaking your ankles but once you are in them you can quite easily walk around in them.. Which I did. The platform makes up most of the shoe and your feet are securely contained and relatively flat, meaning they are pretty easy to walk around if you are a confident and regular platform shoe wearer. As I'm a connoisseur in heel wearing I kept them on for as only as I could, I milked the moment for as long as I could. It was hard to give them back. After I had recovered from my dizzy coming back to earth spell I instantly felt like something was missing from my life, an empty space where they should have been. They were gone.
I doubt I have ever been completely in love with a pair of shoes until now and I hope who ever ends up owning my Armadillos loves them as much as I loved them for that small moment.

I finally got my last set of undeveloped photographs back from the developers. A lot of the photos date back to July. Including the night myself and my flat mates ran away to the Dorchester Hotel for the night to visit a friend who at the time was looking after a rather cute Celebrity Baby. As well as pictures of my good friend Sexus spinning around a pole after we played Disk Jockey's at the first Glamcanyon party in London and the Jumble sale myself and my flat mate hosted at the Old Blue last in December, it went really well and our next one will be in three weeks (25th January).

My resolutions this year- 1.To keep myself in work (and to save..those pesky shoes and records get in the way) in a time when work isn't really about. 2.To drink more water.3.Take more photographs.4.To not be afraid to draw and be creative..no one else seems to worry, why should I?
